Art of the title. Emmy Nominations 2017

Emmy Nominations of 2017 for Outstanding Main Title Design award for TV series were announced on July 13th.
Studio Elastic ( American Gods, The Crown and Westworld ) , Imaginary Forces’ ( Stranger Things ) and Prologue ( Bette and Joan )
are nominated for the title videos.

Studio Elastic. American Gods

Studio Elastic previously won the title design Emmy in 2016 for The Man in the High Castle
and in 2014 for the brilliant True Detective and had nine nominations since 2011.The opening title video of American Gods translates Neil Gaiman’s novel mood into a psychedelic sceneries of deities, demons, religious and cultural symbols. It mix modern and ancient artefacts with modern technology. Elastic brings molten gold aestetics for The Crown which is Netflix’s most expensive drama series to date. Westworld Elastic’s main titles brings an ambitious Sci-F visions, evoking the work of Leonardo Da Vinci, Japanese filmmaker Mamoru Oshii, and video artist Chris Cunningham.

After numerous successful collaborations on the American Horror Story series, television producer Ryan Murphy and title designer
Kyle Cooper of studio Prologue reteam for Murphy’s latest anthology series Bette And Joan : the  chronicles the rivalry between Holliwood legends
Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. Set in the 1960s, a stylized animation featuring influence of the legendary graphic designer and filmmaker Saul Bass
and Alfred Hitchcock thrillers mood: most notably Rear Window and Vertigo.

Studio Imaginary Forces. Stranger Things
Creative Director Michelle Dougherty uses a nostalgic 80s visual language of glowing letters which looks like paperbacks of Stephen King
novels.
